This is a clone of the Estes Scorpius from the mid-80s (#1375). This was built with a balsa nose cone instead of a PNC-50X due to availability, and I used basswood instead of balsa for strength reasons. The design is real neat, but my concern is the durability of the pods on landing. To that end, I also laminated continuous paper over the pods/wings/body tube, as well as epoxy fillets. Time will tell. One other distinction is nylon parachute rather than plastic. I haven't finished painting yet, but will use decals from Excelsior.
