Brief
This is an Estes single stage rocket to be flown on D size engines.

Construction
The kit came in a hanging box display and was packaged very well. All the parts were intact. I think it was manufactured before they had skill levels on the box. But I would say probably a skill level 2. The tube couplers were not quite long enough to keep the body tubes straight. As long as you keep an eye on them while gluing there is no problem.

Finishing
The kit was painted with standard krylon paint. And the decals went on very nicely. All in all it is a very good looking rocket.

Flight
The first flight was on a D12-7 and the delay was to long. It opened on the way down, and there was no damage. The second flight was on an E30-4 and it flies great. Opened at apogee perfectly. I have had at least 20 flights without a single problem.

I am planning on trying F24-7 and F39-10 Aerotech reloads.

Recovery
I did not use the supplied shock cord. I used 1/8" elastic cord about 5' long epoxied a loop to the inside of the tube. I also made my own rip stop nylon chute. 24" with a 2" spill hole. It floats down really nice. I have never had any damage on this rocket.

Summary
Overall I would say that this is a great kit. If you can find it, it is well worth building. It was kind of on the pricy side but for the number of flights I have had it is very reasonable. The only thing I would change is to have the body couplers a little longer.

Overall Rating: 4 ½ out of 5
