Brief:
The Christmas Tree is a unique and festive rocket to fly for the holidays. It
is light enough to where you really does not need a parachute. It flys
straight, and it is straight forward in design. My son and wife had fun
decorating the Tree before its maiden flight. I have flown it at least ten
times now and it is always an eye catcher.
Construction:
Two 29 milimeter body tubes, a coupler, three sheets of styrofoam poster board,
one 24 inch mylar parachute, and a wooden star as a nose cone. Elastic shock
cord is included.
Easy to follow. There are one or two drawn pictures, but the instructions are easy to follow. No special tools required. If you have scissors, and X-Acto knife, epoxy, and a ruler, you are all set to build.
Finishing:
Pros: Easy to build, easy to assemble.
Cons: big after being built, and it can be easy crushed (meaning the poster board fins)
Construction Rating: 3 out of 5
Flight:
I fly mine on an Econojet F-20 and it works just fine. I have seen some flown
with a G-35, but it doesn't fly as straight.
The rocket does require a little wadding.
Recovery:
The shock cord is a basic elastic waistband material, but it does work fine,
and it hasn't been torn or burned from flight.
Flight Rating: 3 out of 5
Summary:
It is a cute rocket to add to your collection.
