Soyuz Booster

Here's a sneak peek at the Soyuz currently under construction in my workshop. The model is a 1/69 scale representation of the venerable Soviet space booster. All the nose cones and balsa transitions were made by BMS. The paper transitions and shrouds were made using VCP's transition pattern tool.

The model will be flown on 24mm engines (D12-3/E15-4/E18-4) and recover in two sections. The current weight is 8.5oz which is pretty close to the projected flying weight of 8oz. Construction is typical of model rockets using Estes parts.
