The instructions for the THOY Hornet were very easy to follow, they were 2 pages long with a diagram for most of the steps. The tools needed for building this rocket are: 5 minute epoxy, sanding sealer, ruler, sandpaper, CA, sharp modeling knife and a sanding block.
All parts on the kit fit really well, and there was no sanding needed to make them fit! I do wish they gave a longer motor tube for the rocket. The tube they give you is only 6" long, this limits you to G motors. This rocket can easily handle H motors!
The finished rocket looked very nice! They did not give any decals though. The thing that is nice about the kit is you can fly it on a Aerotech D13-4 or a D21-4 or put it way up there on G's!
For the first flight of my Hornet I used a Aerotech E30-4 Blue Thunder. Rocket flew GREAT! And was recovered under the 24" chute only with a chip in the paint from a rock hitting it on landing!
I would give the Hornet 4 ½ points! The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is it needs a longer motor tube! This is a GREAT kit for beginners in mid-power rocketry!
