Manufacturer: | Cygnus Rocketry |
Brief:
This is one of the first kits from Cygnus Rocketry. The components are all top notch and assembly is a breeze. This
rocket is also fast, straight, and will be gone in a blink.
Construction:
Components include:
Construction is a breeze. Fins are laser cut and easy to pop out. The transition and nose cone are so smooth and easy to fill. The motor mount is same as any other. The launch lug is nested in the fillet of one of the fins. You glue the BT-20 to the top of the transition and then if you want, the nose cone to the other side.
When I got this kit there were some missing parts, but I contacted Cygnus and the problem was quickly taken care of. I really suggest them to anyone looking for some fun kits.
Finishing:
Finishing is pretty straightforward. There is one supplied decal and that is it. I put down 3 coats of primer, same
number of Wal-mart silver, then painted the top half and upper inch of so of the bottom with Testor's Sapphire Metal
Flake. It came out great. Finally came the green Blazer decal. Unfortunately I tore part of the decal when applying it.
Some how it looks better that way.

Flight:
My Blazer has only flown once. That was on a B6-4. The flight was fast, and it went arrow straight.
Recovery:
Recovery was beautiful, came down slow enough on a 12in Hartle chute and settled down in the soft hill. The paint is
a little chipped but it can be fixed.
Flight Rating: 5 out of 5
Summary:
This is a fun kit. There weren't any "gotchas" or tricky steps. Just pure fun.
