Lil' Augie with booster motor in module

I inserted a spent motor to illustrate how the module would hold the booster motor

The booster motor accelerates the Lil' Augie off the pad. As soon as it burns out it ignites the sustainer motor and then drops out of the lower tube. The lower tube then becomes, in theory, a thrust augmenter for the sustainer motor. The model needs to be boosted to a high speed before igniting the main motor in order for any possible thrust augmentation to take place. The design was not meant to actually test the theory of thrust augmentation. Rather, it provided an example of how model rockets built with Estes Industries components could be used for educational purposes. The Lil' Augie is an example of a rocket that might be designed and built by a student who wanted to perform experiments in jet propulsion science.
