Rick Barnes's Hawkeye 3X

This is my 3X sized clone of an Estes Hawkeye.  I built this one because the original was just too small, and the 2X was only just enough bigger.  This has a little more detail than I could do with the smaller models.  My theory is that a military drone called "Hawkeye" is for reconnaissance rather than a target, so I detailed a camera bay underneath, as well as various control surfaces.  Also, I decided that just having two empty tubes on top of the wings looked silly, so I made turbine cores for them.  This model is technically a cluster, since in addition to the 24mm mount, the turbines are built to handle 13mm engines as well.  The color scheme is what I call "Cosmic Countershading" - dark smoke metallic over silver.  Its difficult to photograph when the light source is overhead.  Most of the panel detail was done with a Sharpie and a straightedge before the topcoat was applied, but the ribs on the rudders are card stock - done to stiffen the balsa.  The wings themselves are 1/8" aircraft ply.
