My first scratch build, built from the Estes Designer Special box around 1990.  A small single stage payload rocket using a two-stage fin pattern from the set.  Since each fin is one-piece (it didn't occur to me to make separate parts and glue them together), the grain on the tips isn't favorable.  So, I glued 1/16th" balsa stringers to the fins to act as spars and covered them with Monocote.  The launch lug is set into one of the fin's covering.
