A full 1280 N-s J Impulse White Lightning motor in an 11.5 lb rocket... Launch Event: TCC July 2016 Launch Location: Maddox Diary Farm, Helm CA Rocket: Madcow/Apogee "Level-2" Motor: Aerotech RMS 54/1280 J415W-L (14 sec delay) Altitude Reached: 4613 ft Maximum Velocity: 553 ft/sec Nice flight, straight up. The 14 second delay motor ejection fired about 3 seconds too early, and beat both altimeter's apogee charge. However the rocket was slowed down to about 60 ft/sec when it fired. I'm guessing that the ignitor lit the delay grain seconds before the motor.. not good. This seems to happen too much.
