UCLA Rocket Project static firing the HyPE 1A Test Engine. Fuel is aluminized paraffin, oxidizer is nitrous oxide. There was a problem with the nitrogen pressurization system which prevented the engine from starting properly. The cause is believed to have been a seized check valve. Nominal thrust is 1000 lbs, this test peaked at 200 lbs.
