Sheri's HOT Rockets (CJS Aviation) Little Joe II (1/30th)

Nearly perfect flight. It really comes alive with the extra thrust of an H motor. - H128-S - WAC [More]

Madcow Rocketry Honest John (Fiberglass) (Kit)
Review
The Madcow Rocketry Honest John Style M31 is a mid to high power fiberglass scale model of the 1950's vintage US Army Artillery Rocket. This Honest John uses a 29mm engine mount and a 2.6" diameter main body tube (it's basically the same size/scale as the Estes Maxi-Brute Honest John). I noticed ... [More]

Sheri's Hot Rockets Saturn V (Kit)
Review
Sheri's Hot Rockets Saturn V is a high power (54 mm engine mount), 1/48 scale model of the famous NASA moon rocket (Sheri also offers this Saturn V with dual 29mm engine mounts although I wouldn't recommend it as it needs the bigger motors). Sheri keeps a consistent "Buy It Now" presence on ... [More]

Sheri's HOT Rockets (CJS Aviation) Saturn V (1/48th)
Flight
Absolutely magnificent flight and the 3-plus second motor burn was fantastic - only a five engine cluster could have made this look more like the real thing. Nearly lost the upper portion when it caught a thermal. - J275-S [More]

Apogee Components Saturn V (1/70th)
Flight
This rocket seems to be very sensitive to CG changes, so I added some nose ballast to counteract the heavier H motor. It worked - flight was arrow straight. Near perfect flight. - H128-S [More]

Sheri's HOT Rockets (CJS Aviation) Saturn V (1/48th)
Flight
Nice flight, small weathercock off the rail but nothing serious. But this is realistically the minimum motor for this rocket - I215-S [More]

Apogee Components Saturn 1B (1/70th)
Flight
Nice flight, until way early ejection (not sure what I was thinking - a 7 second delay would have been fine). Shock from the early ejection caused the Apollo capsule to separate from the upper portion, but it showed up later in the day at lost and found. - G64-4 [More]

Apogee Components Saturn V (1/70th)
Flight
A bit lazy off the pad, but a nice flight. I was planning to put it up on an H180, but neglected to bring the necessary extra nose ballast. This rocket really should have a 38mm mount. - G71-4 - WAC [More]

Caveman Rocketry Der Red Max (Kit)
Review
The Caveman "Der Red Max" is ostensibly a clone of the classic Estes "Der Red Max", first released in 1971 as part of the Estes Citation line. Although it is really just a simple 3FNC rocket, the politically incorrect, silly "Hogan's Hero's German" humor and skull & crossbones motif made ... [More]

Estes Interceptor (K-50) (Kit)
Review
Brief:
The Estes K-50 Interceptor is another favorite rocket from my youth. Produced
from 1971 to 1980, the Interceptor's sleek, futuristic lines and vast array of
colorful decals made it an instant favorite and it is often considered to be
one of Estes all time classic kits. Naturally, ... [More]

Review
The Apogee Saturn V is a 1/70th scale model of the magnificent NASA Saturn V moon rocket. A companion kit to the Apogee Saturn 1B, this is a large rocket standing over 62 inches tall and 5.6 inches in diameter. The large size and high level of detailing make this an impressive rocket. Brief:
The Estes 2019 Titan III E is a 1/73rd scale model of the mid 1970's vintage

service life with only seven launched. However its ... [More]

Estes Little Joe II (K-30) (Kit)
Review
The Little Joe II was a NASA test vehicle used during the mid 1960’s to test the Apollo Launch Escape System. Estes produced the K-30, a 1/70th scale Little Joe II kit, from 1968 to 1971. It was another of my favorite rockets from my youth (I even became fairly adept at building that tricky ... [More]

Tango Papa Mars Lander (3.9") (Kit)
Review
Brief: The Tango Papa 3.9 Lander is technically an upscale of the classic Estes K-43 Mars Lander, first released in 1969. In one of those ‘what were they thinking’ decisions, Estes discontinued the Mars Lander kit in 1983, and original Estes Mars Lander kits now go for major bucks on ... [More]

Modification Saturn V (29mm) (Modification)
Review
Brief: The Estes EST 2157 1/100th Scale Saturn V is quite a nice rocket kit. Oh sure, its scale accuracy is not all that great, but it is readily available (at least as of this writing), reasonably priced at under $100 (with significant discounts available), large enough to be impressive, nicely ...
