Flight Log - 2015-10-10 - Steve Lindeman's Laser Lance

Laser Lance is an original Estes design with a distinct Military look. Definitely not your standard 3FN rocket. Projected altitude is 925' on an Estes D12-5. Could also double as a payload rocket.

Flight Date: 2015-10-10
Rocket Name: Laser Lance
Kit Name: Estes - Laser Lance {Kit} (3218) [?-2015]
Flyer's Name: Steve Lindeman
Motors: C6-5
Expected Altitude: 450 Feet
Wind Speed: 7.00 mph
Launch Site: JMRC-M.I.S./Graves Farm Campground

Used my 18x24mm adapter to load rocket with a C6-5 for maiden flight. Rocket left pad quickly and reached about 400' or so. Ejection charge fired and that's when things went wrong. In my haste to get this one out to the field I forgot to pack it with dog barf. Needless to say parachute was melted inside of tube and only about an inch came out. Fortunately this is one solid built rocket and it landed on some grass and there was no damage to the rocket or fins. Parachute and shock cord however were toast. Rocket was taken back to my table by my car and repaired for next flight
