Flight Log - 2011-11-25 - Hans "Chris" Michielssen's Semroc Batrok

Centuri design from the 1960s designed during the TV Batman craze. I finished mine like the Adam West Batman costume, complete with a yellow ulility belt band on the nose block coupler. This model hangs upside down during recovery so the fins don't get tangled in the shroul lines at ejection.

Flight Date: 2011-11-25
Rocket Name: Semroc Batrok
Kit Name: Semroc - Bat Rok {Kit} (KV-53)
Flyer's Name: Hans "Chris" Michielssen
Motors: Estes A3-4t
Launch Site: Schoolyard Soccer field
Actual Altitude: 350 Feet

The 13mm engine was friction fitted into an 18 mm casing. Altitude at ejection was about 350'. First it drifted, then it stayed hung up in a thermal! For a few moments it looked as if it would be over the wall in some body's back yard.
