Flight Log - 2014-09-01 - Rodney Earp's Semroc Orbital Transport

The instructions are very well done for this rocket. Lots of pictures and easy to understand step by step. This is a level 2 rocket and very easy to put together but the wing angles are very important to the flight and close intention should be made when gluing the wings to the fuselage, these are just like the fins but bigger. The kit goes together fast and can be framed up in 3 or 4 hours easy. The finishing is going to interesting and I’m thinking of using Aerogloss dope to seal everything thing before painting. I think the dope will be lighter than Sealer and better for all the balsa wood. Paint is one color "White" that makes thing simple and with the decals that are Waterslide, adds alot of detail to this kit. I like to change colors and things on rockets to make them my own, but to do so with this one would be just wrong, it can't get any beter. William is building and flying this for his Nartrek Gemini Level and was very excited to build this, I hope we’ll fly it in 2 weeks at ROCC.

Well this project got set aside for a while once framed up, Just other things going on. Finishing this was a challenge on the main because of the tight places to sand and seal. If doing again, I might seal everything before taking it out of the sheets. Put about 4 coats of sealer on them sanding between coats, this way the ends is the only thing to seal and could be done easy after glued together.

After the last flight and loosing the glider, I had to cut another one from scratch since Semroc is no longer.  Coming along nicely needs paint
