Flight Log - 2012-09-16 - Hans "Chris" Michielssen's Raisin' Maize (Scratch Design)

This model is based on the First Flight Hobbies Corn Roc model.

I found this styrofoam corn cob in a sale bin at Hobby Lobby for $1.00. I thought it'd be a great build for the blog. A hole was reamed for a BT-5, 13mm mount. A little nose weight, 8" parachute and unfinished balsa fins round out the build.

Flight Date: 2012-09-16
Rocket Name: Raisin' Maize (Scratch Design)
Flyer's Name: Hans "Chris" Michielssen
Motors: Estes A10-3t
Launch Site: Schoolyard Soccer field
Actual Altitude: 175 Feet

The small parachute was hard to pack in the BT-5 internal tube. Good boost and ejection but the chute didn't unfurl. No damage on recovery.
