Flight Log - 2011-06-25 - Peter Waithe's Family Affair

Each tube has a 3 inch wide kevlar tape at the top and then each tube has been fiberglassed.  The fins also have been tip-to-tip fiberglassed.  The altimeter bay was modified to accommodate the wider altimeter sled.  For motor retention, an Aeropack retainer is used.

The motor lit immediately and Family Affair screamed off the pad on a large green flame.  At apogee, the main drogue charge fired and the backup charge fired 1 second later.  Family Affair came down drougeless.  At 700 feet my main charge for the main chute fired.  At 500 feet, the backup charge fired.  When the main chute deployed, a personal alarm from Radio Shack was activated.  The rocket landed about a quarter of a mile away for a successful level 3 flight.
