Flight Log - 2011-06-26 - Peter Waithe's Big Nuke

The fins feature fiberglass that is internal as well as thick fillets.  Each tube has 3 inch wide kevlar to prevent zippering.  The electronics bay is standard and has a Missileworks switch for altimeter operation.  The payload tube is 27 inches long.  I have 25 feet of tubular nylon shock cord for drogue and main.

Flight Date: 2011-06-26
Rocket Name: Big Nuke
Flyer's Name: Peter Waithe
Motors: K550
Expected Altitude: 4,000 Feet
Launch Site: METRA, Pine Island, NY
Actual Altitude: 4,289 Feet

This was my last flight at NERRF 7 for the weekend.  I decided on the K550W as I like the performance of this motor.  When the button was pushed, the Big Nuke screamed straight up into the clouds.  The apogee charge was heard and at 700 feet, the main charge fired, deploying the 60 inch main chute for a perfect recovery.
