Flight Log - 2012-08-07 - Paul Nortness's SLUF (Short Little Ugly Fella)

SLUF is a stock Estes Big Daddy. I laminated the balsa fins and added strips of balsa on the centering rings for extra strength. I thought the name SLUF (Short little ugly Fella) was more fitting for a rocket of this stature.

First launch of SLUF on a composite reload. WOW! SLUF sat and smoked for a minute and then just disappeared! Nice loud launch, angled rod slightly to launch into light wind. Absolutely perfect flight, recovered SLUF about 70 feet from the pad....if rockets had emotions, SLUF would have had a huge smile on it's face!
