SLUF is a stock Estes Big Daddy. I laminated the balsa fins and added strips of balsa on the centering rings for extra strength. I thought the name SLUF (Short little ugly Fella) was more fitting for a rocket of this stature.

SLUF roared off the pad to the cheers of some passing bicyclists. This time, it veered towards the north of the field slightly. Ejection right after apex. However, the shock cord broke just above the anchor. The chute deployed and returned the nose cone softly to earth, while the main body tumbled downward. Luckily, the folks at Estes designed a tough rocket and it bounced harmlessly to the turf.....only repair needed is a new shock cord.
