Flight Log - 2016-01-16 - Matthew Bond's Rocketarium Turbo Vortico

A helicopter style odd-roc, with Three "blades" that extend out from the central 29mm motor tube.  Constructed from a total of 6 laser cut plywood parts.  Flight profile is high drag, low altitude, spin stabilized, very entertaining.

So after awesome flights on both "F" and "G" motors, someone on the flight line said as I was walking back form recovering the Turbo Vortico, "Will that thing take an "H" motor?"  Well who knows, but I'm sure I've got one in the car somewhere...  Loaded up a CTI H135 White and touched it off.  For a couple of brief glorious seconds it seemed like it was going to work,  The Turbo ripped through the air literally humming as it spun up into the sky, then right around burnout one of the blades failed and the whole thing came apart in spectacular fashion.  I managed to keep my eyes on the motor tube/casing and was able to recover the hardware, but that was then end of the Turbo Vortico.  I've already got another one ordered....
