1997, Hartsel Colorado. I attended LDRS 16 for my Level 1, 2 and 3 certification attempts. I only got my first 2 certifications before I went to the hospital in Denver Colorado. The rockets that went off that day were a full scale Arcas on an I-284 and a Sand Hawk on a K-550. Later I attended LDRS 19 in South Carolina for my Level 3 attempt. A 12 foot tall 12 inch diameter rocket was lifted off the ground with a M-1939 (filmed by Earl Cagle Jr, Point 39 Productions) Unfortunately the rocket crashed by the parachutes melting together.
