Flight Log - 2011-01-15 - K Sonesen's Flatblack (Tube Fin)
This is a copy of Larry Brand's "Flat Black" which can be found here on EMRR. I built mine as per the instructions right down to the flat black paint scheme. In the interest of better visibility however, I have added two 1" wide rings of prismatic tape around the airframe. The Flat Black is a rocket that really shows what can be done with low impulse/long burning Estes E9 motors.

Beautiful straight up flight that I almost lost when it "specked out". Fortunately the tracking smoke guided me in the right direction and I was able to pick it up when the chute deployed. Landed about 200 feet from the launchpad with no damage. No pictures as my flying buddy's nephew who normally handles the photography for us was not present.
