Flight Log - 2013-03-08 - Randy Ogata's Estes, Jetliner
Flight Date: 2013-03-08
Rocket Name: Estes, Jetliner
Flyer's Name: Randy Ogata
Motors: A10
Launch Site: Homestead Park
Actual Altitude: 100 Feet

Maiden Flight. Quest Wadding. Incomplete deployment. Damaged vertical stabillizer

Did not have sufficient velocity off the rod for stability

Curved / arced over towards it's back, still mainly vertical when the smoke charge indicated it was coming back down

Even with recommended A10-3T engine this was un-nervingly close to mother earth

Praying for the fastest 3 seconds to ejection charge, resulted in a deployment at 25 feet or less with the rocket screaming down

Chute just started to deploy when the wet grass broke the decent abruptly. Didn't notictithe damage initially

When we packed up it was evident that the vertical stabilizer was being held on by the left glue fillet

A thin bead of Elmer's Pro Max glue was applied and the stabiller was eased back down into position
