Maiden Flight. Quest Wadding. Incomplete deployment. Damaged vertical stabillizer
Did not have sufficient velocity off the rod for stability
Curved / arced over towards it's back, still mainly vertical when the smoke charge indicated it was coming back down
Even with recommended A10-3T engine this was un-nervingly close to mother earth
Praying for the fastest 3 seconds to ejection charge, resulted in a deployment at 25 feet or less with the rocket screaming down
Chute just started to deploy when the wet grass broke the decent abruptly. Didn't notictithe damage initially
When we packed up it was evident that the vertical stabilizer was being held on by the left glue fillet
A thin bead of Elmer's Pro Max glue was applied and the stabiller was eased back down into position
