Flight Date: | 2017-04-13 |
Rocket Name: | Estes Baby Bertha |
Kit Name: | Estes - Baby Bertha {Kit} (1261) [2002-] |
Flyer's Name: | Eric Duncan |
Motors: | A8-3 |
Launch Site: | Public School Yard |
Actual Altitude: | 80 Feet |
Wind @ ~10mph, SEVER wind-cocking to 90 degrees immediately after thrust completed.
Then a heart-stopping delay of a second or two when the rocket dropped to just 50 feet - and popped the chute. Recovery was picture perfect - only only for a second or two as the chute opened.
The A8-3 motors are good for small tight school yards with NO wind.
This was flight # 20 and it was never this bad before. Use a larger motor in wind!
