This kit was built mostly according to the Estes directions. We attached a 1/8" kevlar strap to the motor mount for the lower shock cord attachment. Additionally, we cut off the very end of the nose cone and installed a section of body tube to hold another 1/8" kevlar strap for the upper shock cord attachment point.

The engine burned through on the side, but did not appear to cause major damage to the rocket. I did file a MESS report in addition to contacting Estes. Der Red Max will fly again at the next launch!
