Severe weather cock. Dual Deploy Nose Cone with Mobius video cam monitoring deployment.

These pictures are frames from the video camera taped to the shock chord pointed at the nose cone.  In one picture the main chute is being extracted from the chute tube in the nose cone.  The main chute is inside the red deployment bag.

In the second picture (taken a couple of seconds before the first), you see the main shock chord twisted around the drogue harness a few seconds before the main was released.  If the twist had not undone the main chute would likely not have been able to deploy and there would have been a hard landing under the smaller drogue chute.

I refer to this Dual Deployment setup as a Successful Failure because all three flights that used this setup had successful recoveries, but the video camera revealed a flaw that could eventually lead to a failed recovery.  This should be a cautionary tale for Jolly Logic Chute Release setups and cable cutter/burrito setups.
