Biography:

I have been into Rocketry for 48 years, or from 1967. I have kits in Vern Estes' and the Seattle MOF's Museums and many items/kits signed personally for me by Vern.  I'm an authority on Vintage kits, mainly Estes, so any questions, I will love to help any one with. I'm disabled now with fibromyalgia, so I'm Very limited in my flying activities. I am Full of Ideas.  I am building or rebuilding kits as I can-- all are ORIGINAL Estes kits, NOT Clones or scratch built. I have a wealth of parts, decals, etc. in my collection library. I deal in Original materials/Kits. I recently sold off a lot of my Rarest items like my 3 MMI kits/engines, and others for health issues. I've been there & done that, so I enjoy helping anyone and sharing the love of the hobby. I helped Eric Higgins at Vintageestesrockets.com to a good extent-(check it out!).  Sorry-I'm not bragging, just giving a profile of my life long experience in the world of rocketry. I'd say I have flown some 10 thousand flights and have had many more kits that that. Once I had some 1200  Estes K Kits in my collection. I gave some of the early Companies like Bill Saindon @ BMS, Jim Z, etc.,  patterns to help start their businesses. Carl at SEMROC was a dear friend who I talked to late at nite on the phone. Vern sent me a 1st year MARK kit signed To me from the same production batch Jay Apt took up in the shuttle. So, I hope to hear from any of you who may wish to share or ask anything with me--this is what it's all about. I may be slow to reply as my health slows me down a lot. But my love of the hobby will never die. Like you---its in my Blood. Happy flying,,, Danny .

Refurbish Little Joe II 1/45 Scale

Build

I received this 1/45 scale Little Joe II kit from a friend in pieces. It looked very sad at first glance, but I knew this bird still had some life in her. I drew on my skill and experience to breathe new life into this forgotten rocket. One fin was missing from the rocket. I just ... [More]

This is an Original complete kit I found and the fins were cut out. So I have finished it all except the paint detail. One thing I always do is 'skin' the fins with yellow file cabinet paper for strength/finish. I used Elmer's Carpenter glue brushed over the fins and lay a cut out of the fins over ... [More]
