Ammonium Perchlorate Composite Propellant (APCP) powered the Space Shuttle's Solid Rocket Boosters. APCP is also the propellant used in most mid-power and high-power sport rocketry motors.
APCP is a composite propellant which consists of an oxidizer, ammonium perchlorate (NH4ClO4), combined with aluminum and a binder. The alumimum and binder serve as the fuel.
