Luc Bausch formed AeroRacers to produce a line of toys designed to encourage children's creativity. Born in Luxembourg, and a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, Bausch taught middle school science in California. Teaching fifth and sixth graders at an aviation summer camp sponsored by Embry-Riddle, Bausch noted the frustation caused by poor design of the model airplane kits assembled and flown by the kids. This inspired Bausch to develop "The Lightning," a single-prop, elastic-band-powered balsa wood racing plane and, later, other educational products which he markets though AeroRacers.
