Flight Log - 2012-06-16 - Adam Amick's Rose to the Occasion

My first cluster rocket, it has flown numerous times with only three incidences. Arguably my favorite mid-size kit, it will fly on 2 D12-3s, as well as E9s, but the E9 is not really enough "umph" off the pad. I did get to fly it on the new Estes E12-6 motors on 6/16/12 and it was a tremendous flight.

When I originally built the rocket I was looking for a catchy name and came up with "Rose to the Occasion". I painted the rocket a simple white and added a rose stencil, plus the name hand-painted in gold paint pen. Haven't seen that before or since.

The Rose has a great flight history and has been nearly flawless. Twice only one motor lit, resulting in a slow climb off the launch rod then laying down on the ground to ejection. No damage, and it was a result of my preparation of twisting the igniters. Once the parachute failed to fully deploy but it tumbled into tall grass without damage.
