Another full L flight for the 100% ARCAS, this time at AirFest 29. I flew the Redline because that red flame and the red & white ARCAS were just too good a combination to pass up. The weather was HOT HOT HOT. The RRc3 claims it was 105f at launch in the AV bay!

The redline did not disappoint. It takes a split second to come up to pressure, but that Lazer red exhaust flame is something to behold. THe rocket hit apogee just shy of the predicted altitude only reaching 10,552' AGL (per the RRC3). This time the sky was super clear, and the upper-level winds were extremely calm, meaning the rocket was in sight even at apogee. I'm flying a TopFlight X-Type 96" main in the rocket, which will collapse on the ground, limiting dragging after touchdown. But it also hides pretty well in the beans. Unfortunately the GPS did not lock on; fortunately the radio tracker always "just works." So finding the rocket was easy, if not a trek through the soy field.

The flight was nominal, if just shy of predicted apogee. Maximum velocity was 1.24 Mach which is pretty \good for an L and this rocket.

Actual Altitude: 10,553 Feet
